Newave are currently hosting the 'Mixed Exhibition' comprising a wide range of work from a variety of artists. Every wall is filled with work, all of which is for sale should you be in the market for an original painting or two!
I usually find with mixed shows you get some really great stand out work and a few middle of the road pieces but the 'Mixed Exhibition' has been well curated and brings a huge amount of diversity to the walls of the gallery. You'll find Ade Adesina's incredible black and white etchings, far away streets by Lindsay Lavender, alien like landscapes by Tomasz Wrobel, incredible architectural line work by Emily Moore and a fine range of work in between. Its great to recognise some of the art from previous Newave exhibitions, its been a long slog but all their hard work of setting up and running the gallery seems to be leading towards an even better run of exhibitions for the coming the year while also creating an accessible platform to emerging artists in the North East and wider Scotland.
Every visit to Newave results in a good 20 minute chat with Sylwia who runs the gallery so I highly recommend popping past for a look at the show before it closes on the 8th of November. Oh and check out their new craft fayre team up with Brewdog kicking off early November, details here!
