The Little Kicks "Girl" Single Launch & Lemon Tree Gig!

Local hero's and all round good guys The Little Kicks have been busy since last winter working on material for their new album titled "Put Your Love In Front Of Me" which is due for release in late September. But because that's a long way away the lads have released "Girl" the new single which is available from iTunes and their bandcamp page. Be prepared for some pretty jiving keyboards and a strong back beat. Certainly gonna be a winner when they play it on Saturday at the single launch gig at The Lemon Tree.

It will also be a chance to see the full band who haven't played in Aberdeen since they went off and toured around Europe in April, which sounded like a lot of fun! The guys have promised to play some new songs along with old favourites like Call of Youth and Loosen Up which should have the dance floor going! And if were really lucky they might even pull out a special cover version or two, the b side to Girl just happens to be one of my favourite F…

Surfing the Don: A Touring River Don Photography Exhibition @ Seventeen!

Surfing the Don is currently on show in the Seventeen hub on Belmont Street. The project was community initiated and supported by SURF Aberdeen with Alicia Bruce and aimed to get the local communities together in documenting the River Don corridor. Alicia's work has really pushed the boundaries and shown the power of photography both as a tool for documenting the horrible such a Donald Trumps hate campaign against the Menie residents but also as a tool to unite people as she demonstrated with the Surfing the …

WLD WLVS x Brew Dog Mural & T Shirt Launch!

So those crazy WLD WLVS got together with a few friends and produced a special limited edition t shirt for Brew Dog. Then they got a few artist's together and drew all over the mirror wall in the Aberdeen Brew Dog bar to launch the new designs. Two tees are available exclusively at Brew Dog Aberdeen, the Brew Dog Anchor & The Shark by Stu Awesome. As well as the t shirts Stu Awesome brought some pretty nifty sea life related prints down which should be available on line via the WLD WLVS shop soon!
Stu was also doodling on the night along with Stuart Allan, both creating rather distinctive pieces in the port holes while John Mackenzie who's artwork already adorns the walls of the Ellon Brewery so it would have been rude not to include him. Each artist brought their own unique style to the mirror and somehow managed to create a quite harmonious monster, complete with port holes and sharp teeth! All with paying customers looking on bemused. Also on hand were the TRY Industri…
