Ink & Ivory was a 1 week show featuring new work from Amy Beth Gear & Ade Adesina, both Grays School of Art Print Making graduates and both currently Artists in Residence at Grays. The pair were given the opportunity to stay on at Grays for a year to work on new projects and to continue developing their skills. This isn't the first time I've mentioned Amy and Ade as they produced some of my favourite work from the 2012 Degree Show which I did a post about here. From Ade's incredibly stylised prints to Amy's amazingly textural work, both stood out from the crowd!
So armed with only my camera phone I popped over to Grays to see the work before the show came down and its seems like the year long residency has paid off, Amy's work has continued to push the boundaries of texture and print while Ade's continued his exploration of cultures and place through his work. The show is now finished but I'm sure they will both be going on to pastures new. You can see some pics of the work being hung on the Grays blog here and 'm going to be filming a short interview with Amy in the coming weeks about her work and future plans so watch this space or like the facebook page to keep in the loop!
