InStep was on show at Limousine Bull a few weeks ago and the kind interns at Lim Bull kindly opened the gallery on a Thursday evening just so little old me could get a look! The show centres around a participatory on going event called The Slow Marathon. Here's some blurb about where the idea came from.
"Mihret Kebede is exploring the journey from Ethiopia to Scotland by foot. She would have like to walk the whole distance, but desert and closed borders make such a feat almost impossible. She needs enough people to accummulate 225 marathons (26 miles/42 km) to cover the 5850 miles from Addis Ababa to Huntly - each way."
I also got to meet Mirhert & Norma during their Guest at Grays lecture where they both spoke about the ongoing project which is partially being run through Devron Arts Centre based in Huntly. You can sign up to take part in the slow Marathon via the Devron site!
