Went along to see this show a few weeks back by Tim WInters at The Foyer. As I remeber its a series of prints based on views along the old Japanese trade routes, its a quite famous journery with a set number of stops along the way. Tim took this journey and made some studies along the way which have eventually ended up as the series of prints now on display!
I'm a big fan of some of the Japanese masters, especially Hokusai's 36 views of Mount Fuji but Tims prints manage to capture a nice slice of modern day Japan, mixing both the modern built enviroment with some more traditional agricultural scenes. I think the prints are even more compelling what with the devestaion of Japan after the earthquake last month. I'd highly recommend popping into The Foyer for a look at some really special prints.
