Ok so what you see below is the final out come from Craig Barrowman's 3 month residency at the Project Slogan Gallery in Aberdeen. During Craig's time in the space he painted the walls, made some philisophical discoveries and hosted a free open doors art jam!
One of the idea's to come out of his time was the Kal-Eye-Doscope! During the residency he had a diy kaleyedoscope set up and we showed some films at one end so when you looked through you got the full trippy effect. So not being one to do half measures Craig set about contructing a giant eyeball to put his Kaleyedoscope in and made plans to take it out onto the streets of Aberdeen.
Its taken a while but on Saturday the Kal-Eye-Doscope made its maiden voyage from Hilton to Schoolhill via Broad street, then onto Union. A quick stop off out side Marks & sparks, it was off to Back Wynd, Belmont Street then another rest out side Aberdeen Art Gallery and then the final push to Union Terrace Gardens where it sat for an hour! Probably the best way to spend a Saturday in the sun, walking around with a giant eyeball!
Craig asked me to help with some documentaion of the day so there will be a video of his journey coming real soon and you can aslo see the Paint Jam video hes used for the Kal-Eye-Doscope HERE! Neil Henderson was also on handy to get some snappy snaps and should be adding them soon HERE!
