Friday was a real battle bewteen the galleries in Aberdoom with no less than 3 exhibition opening's in one night. I was set to go along to all but in the end went to none of them. Couldn't be bothered jostling for free beers with the other like minded folks so stayed in for a night of video games and Arnie films instead, a much needed rest!
Anyway first up is Frances Walkers 'A Path Aong the Edge' exhibition which follows on from her big exhibition 'Place Observed in Solitude' at the Aberdeen Art Gallery (its pretty darn good and will do a seperate post for it). The Peacocks showing includes a variety of old and new prints as well as an behind the scenes look at her sketch books. She will also be disscussing her work on Saturday 20th March at 3pm at Peacocks and also a DemonstrationThursday 25 March at 5.30pm. Pushing into her 80's Frances is as active as ever and still producing amazing work so don't miss this chance to meet her!
Next up is the second installment of the Project Slogan Student Curated Events with Self & Selflessness: The Art of Looking. It appears a giant two way mirror tent has been erected in the gallery, whos inside and what their doing I'n not privvy to but I'm sure we can find out at the preview on the 26th March, 7pm kick off!
The final exhibition comes courtesy of the Limousine Bull collective. The show is a selection of sketches and drawings from classes held over the past year. Always nice to see some good old fashioned drawing ability, the show runs from now until Sunday 21st March so pop on over the bridge to Torry for a scan.
